i paid all my deposits today and filled out my residence application. which means i officially accepted their offer.
i will be living and studying in halifax for the next four years.
i’m doing arts in a program called the foundation year, which is probably best described as a interdisciplinary mix of history, philosophy and english. i’ll be studying the development of western thought (from ancient times to present, in six stages) via primary texts
I AM RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED, i just snooped the king’s site and went to check out the texts they are reading and the essay questions for the paper they are writing that’s due next week… it’s so awesome to think that i’ll be in university next year
i know i’m going to miss all of my friends terribly. this didn’t really sink in for me until recently; i was so excited about going away and being in uni. and recently i’ve been hanging out with my friends and just enjoying the easy flow of conversation - something that comes with time and familiarity. something i’ll definitely be yearning in my first few weeks (months?) at king’s.
i have no doubt that i’ll make tons of great friends, or that i’ll fit in. when i went to ireland & england this summer i didn’t know anyone and i made some really good friends quickly. i’m confident and i’m outgoing and whatever, but i know it will take at least a few weeks to settle into a niche and to develop that ease of conversation that is so essential to friendships.
i can’t wait until june when i get to choose courses and hjhgrkhgkre it is all just so exciting.
